Most private day boat charters last between 3 and 8 hours. Half-day charters are popular for short coastal trips, swimming stops, and sunset cruises, while full-day boat charters allow more time to explore beaches, bays, islands, snorkeling spots, or nearby coastal towns around Crete.

Yes, most private boat charters are flexible. The captain will normally suggest the best route based on weather, sea conditions, time available, and your preferences. You can usually request swimming stops, secluded beaches, snorkeling areas, beach clubs, sightseeing routes, or sunset views.

Yes, private day boat charters are often ideal for families because the itinerary, pace, and onboard experience can be adapted to children, older guests, or mixed groups. Many boats offer shaded areas, easy swim ladders, restrooms, and comfortable seating. For families with young children, it is best to choose a stable boat with good safety equipment.

Most private day boat charters include a professional captain, especially for motor yachts, catamarans, sailing yachts, and larger boats. If a boat is offered as a bareboat charter, you may need a valid boating license and sufficient experience to operate it yourself.

For a private boat charter, bring swimwear, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, light clothing, a towel if not provided, and any personal medication. Soft-soled shoes or bare feet are usually preferred onboard. It is also a good idea to bring a phone charger, waterproof bag, and a light jacket for sunset or windy conditions.

Yes, sunset boat charters are one of the most popular private charter options in Crete. These shorter private charters are ideal for couples, families, birthdays, proposals, celebrations, or relaxed evening cruises along the coast.

Some private boat charters include drinks, snacks, or catering, while others offer them as optional extras. Larger yachts and luxury charters may offer full catering, private chefs, open bars, or restaurant stops. Always check what is included in the boat charter price before confirming.

The number of guests depends on the boat size, local maritime regulations, and the boat's licensed passenger capacity. Smaller boats may take 2 to 6 guests, while larger yachts, catamarans, and party boats can accommodate bigger groups. The maximum guest number will be shown in the charter details.

If weather or sea conditions are unsafe, the captain or charter operator may reschedule the trip, offer an alternative route, or provide a refund according to the booking policy. Light wind or clouds do not always mean the charter will be cancelled, but safety always comes first.
